Hermine May

Hermine May is a Romanian-born mezzo-soprano and faculty member at the University of Music and Drama in Rostock since 2020. She has established herself internationally through performances in dramatic opera repertoire, notably portraying roles like Carmen, Amneris, and Ortrud at prestigious venues such as La Scala di Milano and opera houses in Copenhagen and Shanghai.

Her artistic collaborations include work with renowned conductors like Zubin Mehta, Raffael Frühbeck de Burgos, and Teodor Currentzis. She has achieved significant success on the concert platform, performing works by Mahler, Verdi, Brahms, and Wagner.
