Nancy Maultsby serves as Professor of Voice at Baldwin Wallace University, bringing decades of professional performance experience to her academic role. A renowned mezzo-soprano, she has performed principal roles at major opera houses including Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Washington National Opera, and internationally at the Royal Opera House (Covent Garden) and Teatro dell'Opera in Rome.
Her educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Music from Westminster Choir College (studying with Lindsey Christiansen) and graduate studies at Indiana University School of Music (under Margaret Harshaw). She further honed her craft as an alumna of the Lyric Opera Center for American Artists at Lyric Opera of Chicago.
Professor Maultsby's expertise spans vocal performance across diverse classical repertoire, informed by collaborations with leading orchestras like The Cleveland Orchestra and New York Philharmonic under conductors including Zubin Mehta and Sir Colin Davis. Her pedagogical approach emphasizes professional preparation, with students consistently gaining admission to top graduate programs and young artist initiatives.
