Prof. Herman Kasper Gilissen is a Professor of Climate Change, Regulation, and Deltas at Utrecht University, affiliated with the Department of Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, and Legal Theory. He holds an LLM (2008) and PhD (2013) in Environmental Law from Utrecht University. His research focuses on environmental/water law, governance of deltas, and interdisciplinary education. He works at the Delta Climate Center (Vlissingen) and the Utrecht University Center for Water, Oceans, and Sustainability Law (UCWOSL). Key roles include UCWOSL Board member (2023–present) and member of the Water Climate and Future Deltas Community Troika (2024–present).
Education: LLM (Environmental Law, Utrecht, 2008); PhD (Environmental Law, Utrecht, 2013). Teaching: Program leader for the Master’s in Constitutional & Administrative Law/Environmental Law (2018–2024); involved in interdisciplinary education initiatives like the Interdisciplinary Education Platform (IEP).
