Herman Aguinis is the Avram Tucker Distinguished Scholar and Professor of Management at The George Washington University School of Business and a Distinguished Research Professor at the University of Exeter Business School. He has held roles including Chair of the Department of Management and Director of the Master of Human Resources Management Program at GWU. His interdisciplinary research focuses on global talent acquisition, organizational research methods, and corporate social responsibility, with notable contributions to understanding gender disparities in star performer recognition (the 'Think Star, Think Men' phenomenon).
He has authored over 230 refereed journal articles and 13 books, including Research Methodology: Best Practices for Rigorous, Credible, and Impactful Research (2025) and Applied Psychology in Talent Management (9th ed.). His work has garnered over 65,000 Google Scholar citations and 24,000 Web of Science citations. He has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the SIOP Scientific Contributions Award and induction into the PhD Project Hall of Fame.
Professionally, he advises organizations like the United Nations and has consulted for AT&T and the City of San Francisco Police Department.
