Associate Professor Henry Yang is a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (2014) and dual bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics (2010), all from UNSW. His research focuses on quantum computing, quantum engineering systems, and condensed matter physics, with particular emphasis on silicon-based spin qubits, quantum dots, and coherent quantum control.
Yang's work bridges theoretical and experimental quantum technologies, addressing challenges in qubit fidelity, noise characterization, and scalable quantum processor design. His contributions include pioneering studies on high-fidelity spin qubit operations above 1 K and real-time feedback protocols for noise mitigation. He collaborates with industry and academic partners, contributing to advancements in quantum processor architectures and educational initiatives in quantum engineering.
His research is supported by grants and partnerships, and he maintains active involvement in the quantum community through roles such as editorial advisory boards and conference organizing committees. Yang’s laboratory is located in the J12 Newton Building at UNSW, and he advises on cutting-edge projects in quantum computing and nanoelectronics.
