Dr. Henry Bowen is a Senior Research Fellow at Flinders University and Research & Training Lead for Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA). His work focuses on how military and first responder cultures impact health and wellbeing, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based postvention services for suicide support and advancing culturally informed care solutions.
- Qualifications include a PhD, Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Advanced), Bachelor of Health Science (Honours), and Bachelor of Psychological Science.
Key research areas encompass:
- Military and first responder cultural influences on mental health
- Postvention frameworks for suicide-impacted communities
- Development of the Military Informed Cultural Competency (MICC) Scale
- Accreditation standards for Creative Arts Therapists across the Asia-Pacific
