Henrietta Zeffert is a Lecturer in the School of Law at University College Cork (UCC) since 2020. Previously, she held positions at the University of Leeds' Centre for Law and Social Justice and served as a policy lawyer at the UK Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (2019–2020) during the Grenfell Inquiry. She completed a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellowship at the European University Institute (2016–2017) and earned her doctoral degree from the London School of Economics, focusing on 'home and international law' with fieldwork in Palestine, Cambodia, and the UK.
Her research emphasizes international law's intersection with everyday life, socio-economic rights, substantive equality (particularly housing), international development, and global socio-legal methodologies. She holds degrees from the University of Melbourne (LLB, BA) and Oxford University (BCL), and is a qualified barrister/solicitor in Victoria, Australia. She previously practiced at Ashurst law firm and served as a judicial assistant to High Court Justice Susan Crennan.
Henrietta co-founded the legal advocacy platform Right Now in 2005 and has taught at Melbourne Law School and LSE. Her work bridges academic research, policy engagement, and legal practice.
