Henri Dekker is a Professor of Management Control at the School of Business and Economics, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and head of the Accounting department. He holds a visiting professorship at Copenhagen Business School and has previously held visiting roles at the London School of Economics and the University of Melbourne. His research focuses on governance of interfirm relationships, organizational management control systems, and regulatory compliance. He has been recognized with multiple awards including the David Solomons Prize (2003, 2020) and the Best Early Career Award (2009).
He serves as Associate Editor for Decision Sciences Journal and holds editorial board positions at Accounting, Organizations and Society and Contemporary Accounting Research. Teaching responsibilities include management accounting courses across bachelor, master, and executive programs. His 96+ publications address topics such as remote work management, regulatory feedback mechanisms, and AI applications in innovation management.
