Henning Schulzrinne

Henning Schulzrinne is the Levi Professor of Computer Science at Columbia University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and previously worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories and GMD-Fokus (Berlin). He chaired Columbia's Computer Science Department from 2004–2009, served as FCC Chief Technology Officer (2010–2017), and was a Technology Fellow in the US Senate (2019–2020).

His research revolutionized internet communication through protocols like RTP, RTSP, and SIP, which underpin modern multimedia applications. Core research areas include:
