Henk Rosendal

Dr. Henk Rosendal is a Lecturer at the Knowledge Center for Healthcare Innovation at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences since 2018. He previously held a lecturer position in Community Care (2010-2018) and People with Chronic Diseases at Leiden University of Applied Sciences (2005-2012). Rosendal is also the chair of the Foundation for the Promotion of Community Nursing (SBW) and has led initiatives in neighborhood diagnostics, dual management systems, and climate-adaptive urban design.

Research Interests focus on the intersection of urban environments and health outcomes, particularly through community nursing frameworks. His work emphasizes integrated healthcare delivery, social determinants of health, and innovative tools for neighborhood diagnostics. Key projects include climate-resilient public squares, dual management systems for care coordination, and neighborhood health assessment models like WijkOPSE.

The articles reflect a strong commitment to practical nursing theories, neighborhood health metrics, and chronic disease management. His publications span applied research, policy frameworks, and educational materials for community nurses.

Labs & Teams include collaborations with physiotherapists, social workers, architects, and municipalities. He co-developed the WijkOPSE diagnostic tool and leads the Extended Twinning project connecting education with neighborhood practice.
