معرفی
Henk Hoekstra is a Professor of Observational Cosmology at Leiden Observatory, Leiden University. His research focuses on dark matter, dark energy, and weak gravitational lensing. He coordinates the Euclid mission for the ESA, aiming to study cosmological phenomena. He holds a PhD (cum laude, 2000) from the University of Groningen, followed by postdoctoral roles in Canada before returning to the Netherlands in 2008. His career includes prestigious grants like the ERC Starting Grant (2011) and NWO Vici Grant (2016).
Education:
- MSc (cum laude, 1995), University of Groningen
- PhD (cum laude, 2000), University of Groningen
Research Interests: Hoekstra specializes in observational cosmology, leveraging weak lensing to probe dark matter and dark energy. His work supports missions like Euclid, advancing shape measurement algorithms and addressing intrinsic alignments. Key projects include the KiloDegree Survey and PAUCam Survey.
Grants/Awards:
- Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship (2007)
- ERC Starting Grant (2011)
