معرفی
Helmut Schaschl is an Associate Professor in the Department of Evolutionary Anthropology at the Faculty of Life Sciences. His research focuses on human genomic diversity, immunogenetics, and the evolutionary history of hunter-gatherer societies in Southeast Asia. He has contributed to projects such as REWIRE (2020–2025) and INDICAR (2013–2018).
- Research interests: Human population genetics, immunogenetics (HLA/KIR), genetic adaptation, and Southeast Asian hunter-gatherer populations
- Awards: Bernd Rode Award 2022, Indonesian hunter-gatherer fellowships (2022–2024)
His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in understanding genetic diversity for global health insights. Recent studies include analyses of the Maniq population's genetic adaptations and maternal origins of coastal maritime groups in Thailand.
