Dr. Helmut Reichenbächer is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Science at OCAD University, Toronto, Ontario. He teaches courses on cultural history, popular culture, and theatre.

His current research examines theatre programming with music during the Weimar Republic and Third Reich, employing digital humanities, musicology, theatre studies, and archival research methodologies to analyze patterns of cultural censorship. The project is supported by a 2023–2025 Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Insight Development Grant, with collaborators in information design and data visualization.
Dr. Reichenbächer is also a Senior Fellow at Massey College, University of Toronto, and maintains a strong passion for live performances including theatre, opera, and dance.
