Helene Muri

Helene Muri is a Senior Researcher at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), affiliated with the Department of Energy and Process Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering. With a D.Phil. in Atmospheric Oceanic and Planetary Physics from University of Oxford (2009) and B.Sc. in Meteorology from University of Reading (2003), she specializes in climate modeling, geoengineering, and carbon management.

Her research spans climate geoengineering techniques (stratospheric aerosol injection, marine cloud brightening), carbon dioxide removal (CDR), negative emission technologies (BECCS), and aviation/shipping emission analysis. As a Co-Author of the UN Climate Panel's 6th report (WG I & III), she contributes to Paris Agreement implementation frameworks.

Recent publications examine Arctic wildfire risks from geoengineering, alternative aviation fuels, and integrated land-ocean CDR strategies. Current team includes postdocs Anusha Sathyanadh and Jan Chylic, with PhD students Homa Esfandiari, Els Ribbers, Kentaro Indo, and MSc students Markella Lyra and Anna Kalesnikava.
