Helene Muri

Helene Muri is a Senior Researcher at the Industrial Ecology Programme (IndEcol) at NTNU’s Department of Energy and Process Engineering. She specializes in climate intervention strategies, including carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and solar radiation modification (SRM). Her work focuses on aviation and shipping emissions mitigation, global climate modeling, and ethical frameworks for geoengineering research. Muri holds a D.Phil. in Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Planetary Physics from the University of Oxford (2009) and a B.Sc. in Meteorology from the University of Reading (2003).

Key professional roles include contributing to the IPCC AR6 reports, leading the European Marine Board’s marine CDR working group, and advising on national climate policies.
