Helena Kadmos is a Lecturer in English Literature at the School of Arts & Sciences, University of Notre Dame Australia (UNDA), based at the Fremantle Campus. She serves as the national Discipline Group Lead for English Literature, Theatre Studies, and Writing. Her responsibilities include coordinating core first-year courses focused on academic skills development for BA students. Prior to UNDA, she held roles as Academic Coordinator at the McCusker Centre for Citizenship (UWA) and as the Krishna Somers Postdoctoral Fellow in Literary Studies at Murdoch University (2016–2017).
Helena’s research bridges scholarly and creative methodologies, encompassing Australian literature, narrative representations of women and motherhood, and the short story cycle. Her creative work explores sustainability, memory, grief, and the impacts of employment precarity on humanities education. She holds a BA from the University of Western Australia and MA/PhD in English and Creative Writing from Murdoch University.
Her professional affiliations include the Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Her work emphasizes community engagement, professional internship integration, and fostering active citizenship through academic programs.
