Helen R Warren

Dr. Helen R. Warren is a Senior Lecturer in Statistical Genetics at the Clinical Pharmacology and Precision Medicine Department within Queen Mary University of London’s Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. She holds key roles in international consortia such as the International Consortium of Blood Pressure (ICBP), Genomics Investigation of Statin Therapy (GIST), and International Consortium of Antihypertensive Pharmacogenetics Studies (ICAPS). Her work focuses on cardiovascular genetics, pharmacogenetics, and genetic risk prediction.

Dr. Warren earned a 1st Class Honours BSc in Mathematics with Statistics from Royal Holloway University of London (2007) and a PhD in Statistics from the University of Surrey. She transitioned into Genetic Epidemiology via postdoctoral research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine before joining Queen Mary in 2013. She was promoted to Lecturer in 2017 and Senior Lecturer in 2021.

Her research integrates statistical genetics with clinical applications, emphasizing hypertension genetics, statin therapy outcomes, and polygenic risk scores. She leads analyses for major studies like ASCOT and BRIGHT, contributes to UK Biobank and Genomics England projects, and collaborates with institutions worldwide.
