Prof. Dr. Helen Keller is a distinguished academic and legal scholar holding the Chair of Public Law, European and International Law at the University of Zurich. She has held prominent roles including Judge at the European Court of Human Rights (2011–2020) and currently serves as a Judge at the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Her expertise spans human rights law, constitutional frameworks, and international legal systems.
Education:
- Studied law at the University of Zurich (1983–1989)
- LL.M. from the Collège d'Europe in Bruges (1993)
- Habilitation in Constitutional Law (2002)
Research Interests: Keller’s work focuses on the intersection of constitutional governance, international human rights mechanisms, and legal federalism. Her recent publication The Swiss Constitution - in a nutshell (3rd ed., 2025) analyzes Switzerland’s unique legal framework amidst global challenges like pandemic governance and geopolitical tensions.
