Helen Elise McVey is the Director of Business Development and Head of the BMus Programme and Creative and Contextual Studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She holds an MBA from the University of Glasgow (2011) and a PGDip in Music Performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (2002), alongside a BA in Musical Studies (2001). Her work focuses on enhancing cultural well-being through arts leadership, strategic development, and music education.
Research interests include music pedagogy, community engagement in the arts, and cultural policy. She co-authored Coorie Doon Drury (2016), exploring intersections of music performance and educational practices. McVey has been a Creative Executive at Enterprise Music Scotland since 2009 and actively participates in academic conferences like ISME (2016).
