Helen Ashwood is a Senior Lecturer at Staffordshire University's School of Health, Education, Policing and Sciences. She has served since 2010 in roles including Course Lead for MSc Nursing and BSc Adult/Mental Health Nursing programs. Her expertise spans Quality Champion initiatives, Fitness to Practice assessments, and Student Experience enhancement, with a focus on Dignity in Care and Spirituality.
Education includes a BSc Hons Nursing Practice, MA Education, and PGCHPE, alongside NMC Stage 4 Teacher certification. Professional memberships include the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Royal College of Nursing, and Senior Fellowship at the Health Education Academy.
Her leadership extends to modules like Care Delivery, Leadership and Management, and Nursing Practice. She co-authored a critical analysis of the Mid Staffordshire NHS Trust enquiry and reviews mentorship frameworks in healthcare. The DRIVER project addresses equity in healthcare outcomes.
