Heike Wanke

Dr. Heike Wanke is a Senior Lecturer at the University of the West of England (UWE), specializing in hydrogeology, isotope hydrology, and water resource management. She has been employed since January 2019 and serves as the Programme Leader for the Degree Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering. Her role includes teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs in civil engineering, geology, and geography.

Education:

• Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Professional Practice, UWE

Her research focuses on dryland environments and water resource management, particularly in Namibia. At the University of Namibia (UNAM), she supervised numerous student projects, including the institution’s first PhD graduate in Geology, and taught modules for both undergraduate (BSc Geology, BSc Biology, BSc Mining Engineering) and postgraduate (MSc Applied Geology, MSc Water Resource Management) programs.
