Heidi Wehring, a board-certified psychiatric pharmacist, is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and affiliated with the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center. Her work bridges clinical research and treatment for serious mental illness across adult and pediatric populations.

Her recent publications highlight interdisciplinary approaches to schizophrenia treatment, with emphasis on pharmacokinetic interactions (minocycline-clozapine), behavioral addictions, and population-specific characteristics in smokers with schizophrenia. Awards include the H. McKee Jarboe Award (2012) and ACNP Travel Awardee (2014). As principal investigator for NIDA-funded research (K23 DA034034), she led a 5-year study on tobacco craving mechanisms.
