Heidi Upton is an Associate Professor at St. John’s University in Queens, New York, affiliated with the Department of Art and Design within the St. John's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Since 2003, she has taught core curriculum courses such as Introduction to Music, Music Theory, and The Creative Process, while serving as Faculty Advisor for the St. John’s Chamber Music Society.

Her research focuses on aesthetic education and civic engagement, often bridging arts-based pedagogy with social justice initiatives.
