Dr. Heidi Peters is an Assistant Professor of Athletic Training and Director of Clinical Education at Cumberland University, affiliated with the Jeanette C. Rudy School of Nursing and Health Professions. She holds a B.S.A.T. from Marywood University (2014) and a D.A.T. from Indiana State University (2019). Her research focuses on athletic training education, including the use of social media for advocacy and data-driven approaches to clinical education. Dr. Peters transitioned to full-time academia in 2021 after clinical roles in outpatient therapy, secondary schools, NCAA athletics, and orthopedic offices. She has served on the Recruitment and Retention Research Committee for the Association for Athletic Training Education.
