Heidi Mau, Ph.D., M.F.A., is an Associate Professor of Communications at Albright College and Faculty Advisor for Albright Arts Magazine. She holds a Ph.D. and M.F.A. from Temple University, and a B.S. from William James College of Grand Valley State University. Her research focuses on media studies, memory studies, fan culture, and gender/sexuality studies. She has published in journals like Journal of Popular Music Studies and Journal of Lesbian Studies, and presented at conferences including the Global Communication Association and Popular Culture Association.
Teaching includes courses such as Media & Society, Communication Theories, and Special Topics in Media & Fan Culture. Her work explores intersections of technology, culture, and visual communication, with a focus on qualitative research methods. Mau collaborates with students on projects like Jacob Gragg’s 2020 research. She advises Albright Arts Magazine, fostering student engagement in creative and scholarly communication.
