Katherine J. Lehman, Ph.D., is Chair and Associate Professor of Communications at Albright College. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico, an M.A. from the University of Illinois at Springfield, and a B.A. from Asbury College. Her research focuses on film and television studies, journalism, cultural history, gender and sexuality studies, and broader cultural analysis. Notable publications include Those Girls: Single Women in Sixties and Seventies Popular Culture (2011) and articles exploring gender representation in media such as Journal of American Culture (2014) and How Television Shapes Our Worldview (2014).
Her work often bridges historical and contemporary issues, examining topics like queer teen representation in Glee and the portrayal of multiple personalities in media. She has collaborated on research projects with students, including studies on media and gender bias, women’s history in higher education, and plus-size models in fashion advertising.
Lehman teaches courses such as Media & Society, Communication Theories, and Multiplatform Writing, emphasizing practical and theoretical communication skills. She is actively involved in Albright’s academic programs, contributing to curricula that blend traditional and digital media practices.
