Hege Merete Somby

Hege Merete Somby is an Associate Professor in Pedagogy at the University of Inland Norway's Faculty of Teacher Education and Pedagogy. She holds a doctorate focused on student enterprise as an inclusive method for students with special needs. Her research examines inclusive education through digital tools (VR/AR) and Sámi perspectives, employing both qualitative and quantitative methods. She is affiliated with the Diversity in Education (DivE) research group.

Research Focus: Somby investigates VR simulations in teacher education, augmented reality for mathematics learning, and indigenous (Sámi) perspectives in curricula. Her work integrates Vygotsky's theories with modern technology to enhance inclusive pedagogical practices.
