Heejun Chang is a Professor of Geography and Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs at Portland State University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences since 2021. He joined PSU in 2001 after earning his Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University. His research focuses on transdisciplinary water studies, including climate change impacts on water systems, flood resilience, and microplastic pollution. He leads initiatives to enhance graduate education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Education: Ph.D. in Geography from Pennsylvania State University.
Research interests center on coupled natural-human systems, with emphasis on urban water resources, disaster vulnerability, and sustainable infrastructure. His work employs spatial statistics, process-based modeling, and social surveys to address contemporary environmental challenges.
