معرفی
Jordy Wolfand is an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Portland, specializing in sustainable water resources management. His research addresses urban stormwater pollution, microplastics, climate resilience, and green infrastructure effectiveness, with projects spanning the Los Angeles River watershed, Portland stormwater systems, and Oregon water supply planning.
Research Focus: Current work includes: (1) Assessing tradeoffs between water reuse and ecosystem health in effluent-dominated rivers, (2) Microplastic pollution tracking and bioretention system efficacy, and (3) Risk frameworks for water suppliers under climate stressors. He employs field monitoring, computational modeling, and interdisciplinary convergence approaches.
Teaching & Outreach: Integrates research into first-year engineering courses and mentors undergraduates in field/lab work. Develops K-12 activities on urban heat/water dynamics and promotes service-learning projects linking engineering with environmental stewardship.
