Hee Jeung Oh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Pennsylvania State University, affiliated with the Institutes of Energy and the Environment (IEE). His research focuses on polymer and composite materials for energy-efficient separation, energy storage, and biomedical devices, addressing challenges in the Water-Energy Nexus and health. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and has authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles.
Key awards include the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry Honor (2025), Roy Award (2024), and the 3M Non-Tenured Faculty Award (2021). His work has been supported by NSF funding for membrane research and grants from the NAE Grainger Foundation.
Research interests emphasize desalination membranes, polymer physics, and ion-exchange systems. Recent projects include 3D-printed drug capture devices and sustainable polyolefin upcycling. Collaborations span academic and industrial partners in materials science and biomedical engineering.
