Dr. Seungju Kim is a Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at RMIT University's School of Engineering, where he also holds an ARC DECRA Fellowship. His academic career includes roles such as Research Fellow at The University of Melbourne (2019–2022), Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Monash University (2015–2017), and Assistant Professor at Hanyang University (2018–2019). He earned a PhD in Energy Engineering and an MS in Chemical Engineering from Hanyang University, Korea.
Dr. Kim's research focuses on advanced membrane materials and processes for applications in seawater desalination, CO2 separation, and environmental engineering. His work emphasizes polymer-MOF electrospun membranes, nanocomposite materials, and sustainable technologies aligned with UN SDGs 6 (Clean Water), 7 (Affordable Energy), 13 (Climate Action), and 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
He teaches courses such as Introduction to Chemical Engineering and Process Systems Design, and supervises research projects on biofouling management, superhydrophobic membranes, and water contaminant removal. His scientific contributions include over 40 peer-reviewed articles, with notable work in Advanced Materials, Journal of Membrane Science, and Angewandte Chemie International Edition.
