Hector Rodriguez, AIA, is an Adjunct Professor of Architecture at both Woodbury University and East Los Angeles Community College. He is the founder of Tecnico, an architectural practice specializing in innovative residential and commercial projects, including middle-scale housing like Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). Rodriguez emphasizes hands-on learning and actively mentors students through his role as advisor to Woodbury’s chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS).
He holds a Master of Architecture with a Housing Specialization from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Architecture from Arizona State University, and is a registered architect in California. His professional experience includes roles such as Project Manager at United Dwelling, where he managed over 30 modular ADU projects, and designer at FSY Architects, focusing on 100% affordable housing developments.
Rodriguez’s research interests center on affordable housing solutions, modular construction systems, and sustainable urban development. His practice, Tecnico, explores creative approaches to housing challenges, blending technical expertise with social responsibility.
