Heather Volk

Heather Volk is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy at the College of Health and Human Sciences. Her research focuses on rural and remote pharmacy practice, health literacy improvement, and mentoring early-career pharmacists. She advocates for alternative pharmacy service models in underserved areas.

Education: Master of Pharmaceutical Studies.

Her work bridges technology and healthcare education, exemplified by co-designing an online pharmacy course using TELAS standards. She also explored pharmacist integration into care teams via a systematic review.

Heather mentors interns and early-career pharmacists, emphasizing rural practice challenges and innovative service delivery solutions.
