Heather M. Streets is an Adjunct Professor and part-time faculty member at the University of San Francisco (USF). She specializes in leveraging her research on anti-Blackness in higher education and digital counter-spaces to support Black doctoral students through academic writing coaching. Her work focuses on peer support systems at Historically White Institutions (HWIs) and the creation of online collegiate Black spaces for activism and knowledge production.
- Education: EdD in International and Multicultural Education from USF, MBA in Marketing from Golden Gate University, BA in Afro-American Studies with Economics minor from UCLA.
Her research explores how Black students navigate and resist systemic inequities at HWIs through digital organizing and peer networks. While her primary publication is a critical book review analyzing Black liberation movements, her broader interests include racial equity in education and the role of online platforms in fostering academic and activist communities.
Streets has received multiple scholarships, including the School of Education (SoE) Social Justice Scholarship and the International Multicultural Education (IME) Doctoral Scholarship, reflecting her commitment to addressing systemic inequities in academia.
