Heather Josselyn-Cranson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities at Regis College. She specializes in liturgical music, theology, and the intersection of sacred music with worship practices. Her academic journey includes a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Bates College, followed by a Master of Sacred Music and a Doctor of Theology in Liturgy and Liturgical Music from Boston University School of Theology.
Her research focuses on global liturgical music traditions, sacramental theology, and the role of music in congregational formation. Notable projects include a Fulbright-funded film documentation of Afro-Mexican religious celebrations in Coyolillo and a Kaneb Grant-supported Regis Newman Symposium. She co-edits an upcoming ecumenical theology of liturgical music (GIA Publications, 2024) and serves on editorial boards for Doxology: A Journal of Worship and OSL Publications' liturgical series.
Dr. Josselyn-Cranson teaches courses such as New Testament, Old Testament, Global Music Education, and directs the Regis Glee Singers. Her recent publications explore emerging church practices and lectionary dynamics, reflecting her commitment to bridging theological scholarship with practical liturgical applications.
