Heather Hodges

Heather Hodges is a Clinical Faculty Specialist/Instructor in Surgical Technology at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences. She also serves as President of the North Carolina State Assembly of the Association of Surgical Technologists and holds certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.

• Education: Associate of Science (AS) in Surgical Technology, cum laude, from Cabarrus College of Health Sciences.

Her research and professional interests center on Surgical Technology, clinical education, and ambulatory surgery practices. She has worked extensively in hospital and ambulatory surgery settings, including roles as General Surgery Coordinator at Atrium Cabarrus.

Professional roles and honors include:

• Elected to the North Carolina State Assembly of the Association of Surgical Technologists board of directors (2013)
• Current President of the North Carolina State Assembly of the Association of Surgical Technologists
• Second term on the State Assembly Leadership Committee (appointed by national AST board)

Heather Hodges has advised and mentored students in surgical technology programs and continues to contribute to clinical education and professional leadership.
