Dr. Heather Garvin-Elling is a Professor of Anatomy at Des Moines University, holding joint roles in the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Program and the Master of Science in Anatomy Program. She is a Board-Certified Forensic Anthropologist and serves on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Forensic Anthropology and the Editorial Board for the Journal of Forensic Sciences. Her expertise spans forensic anthropology, skeletal variation, and basic science research. Dr. Garvin conducts forensic casework for the State of Iowa and other agencies, specializing in biological profile assessments, trauma analysis, and expert testimony.
