Heather Eilerts is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Friends University and previously served as an Adjunct Instructor at Wichita State University. She earned her BFA in Dance from Wichita State University and MFA in Dance from University of California Irvine. Her research focuses on contemporary dance education and using dance as a medium for self-expression and personal development.
She founded the Wheat State Dance Collective to support local dancers and received the Kansas Cultural Trust Grant for professional development in Germany. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes building students' self-appreciation through artistic expression.
