Dawn Bazemore serves as Associate Professor and Director of Dance in the Theatre & Dance department at Rowan University's College of the Arts. A dancer-choreographer, she investigates sociopolitical community issues through innovative artistic practice, with emphasis on African influences in American dance and social justice frameworks.

Professor Bazemore's research explores dance as activism, exemplified by her Central Park Five-inspired work 'A Movement for Five' and her published essay on sociopolitical engagement. Her teaching encompasses Modern Dance technique, Dance for Musical Theatre, and theory courses examining World Dance Forms and African American dance traditions.
