Dr. Heather Caswell is an Associate Professor in the Department of Elementary Education, Early Childhood, and Special Education. She is a National Board Certified Teacher in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy and an active ESL-endorsed educator.

- BS in Elementary Education
- MS in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis on Literacy and Writing Instruction
Her research focuses on literacy education, teacher training, and innovative instructional strategies. She has presented nationally and internationally on topics like writing processes, visual literacy, and family literacy programs.
Dr. Caswell has received notable recognition including the Excellence in Service Award (2016) and the Teacher of Promise and Horizon Awards. She supervises preservice teachers across PK-12 settings and contributes to professional development initiatives.
