Teddy Roop

Teddy Roop is an Associate Professor in the Department of Elementary Education, Early Childhood, and Special Education at Butler Community College's El Dorado Campus. She also serves as the BEST Instructor/PDS Coordinator/Advisor and Program Lead at Teachers College.

  • Bachelor's in Business Administration from Northwestern Oklahoma State University

  • MS in Reading Specialist endorsement from Emporia State University (2010)
  • Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Kansas State University

Her research and professional focus lies in curriculum development, literacy education, and teacher training. She has extensive classroom experience as a former second-grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary and first-grade teacher at Grandview Elementary, where she taught from 2007 to 2014.

Roop has contributed to teacher education through her mentorship in the PDS program and leadership role as Membership Co-Chair for the Organization of Teacher Educators in Literacy (OTEL). Her work emphasizes practical training, having interned in second grade and student-taught in fifth grade during her undergraduate studies.
