Heather Castro is an Adjunct Professor in the Art Department at Rowan University's Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts. She holds a PhD in Art History from Temple University and an MA in Art History from University of Louisville.
Her research specializes in 20th-21st century European and American art and film, with focus areas including the history of the grotesque, cultural trauma, spectatorship, social history, and intersections between elite and popular cultural expressions. She is currently preparing a book examining the zombie figure in art and film, particularly analyzing psychological responses to this imagery during social crises.
