Hayley Stokar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at Gallaudet University, affiliated with the Civic Leadership, Business and Social Change school. Her research focuses on workplace accommodations for deaf workers, disaster preparedness in deaf communities, and ethical challenges in social work practice. She teaches courses such as Qualitative Research Methods in Social Work and Senior Seminar.
Dr. Stokar has been recognized with awards including the 2014 Disability and Persons with Disabilities Manuscript Award and the 2008 G. Arlene Gavin Award. Her work bridges academic research with practical advocacy, emphasizing inclusive policies in employment and emergency management.
