Prof. Dr. Hayati Yüksel is a Professor in the Department of Pre-Clinical Sciences at Bingöl University’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. He holds a veterinary degree from Fırat University (1991), a PhD in Veterinary Pathology (2000), and has served in academic and administrative roles since 1993. His research focuses on veterinary pathology, toxicology, and zebrafish models, with over 30 international and national publications. He has led projects on Lindane toxicity, zebrafish pathogenicity, and formaldehyde-induced apoptosis. Yüksel has held administrative positions including Dean’s Office Deputy (2017-2020), Department Head (2017–present), and has been a member of multiple institutional committees. He is fluent in English (UDS score 67.500) and has supervised numerous theses and collaborations in veterinary science.
Education:
- BVetSci, Fırat University (1991)
- PhD in Veterinary Pathology, Fırat University Health Sciences Institute (2000)
Research Interests: Veterinary pathology, toxicological effects of chemicals (e.g., Lindane, formaldehyde), zebrafish as disease models, histopathological analysis of tumors, and environmental toxicity impacts on animal health. His work bridges clinical observations with molecular mechanisms in livestock and aquatic species.
Grant Projects: Led 11 research projects, including studies on:
- Lindane’s effects on rat testes (2008)
- Zebrafish reproductive toxicity (2013)
- Astaxanthin’s protective role in testicular apoptosis (2021)
Labs/Teams: Active in Bingöl University’s pathology laboratories and collaborations with institutions like the Atatürk University Veterinary Faculty and the Veterinary Microbiology Congress. His lab focuses on zebrafish models for toxin and disease studies.
