Hasan Akintug

Hasan Akintug is a Doctoral Researcher in the Doctoral Programme in Political, Societal, and Regional Change at the Centre for Nordic Studies (CENS), University of Helsinki. He also serves as a grant-funded researcher in the Department of Cultures.

• Research Focus: Nordic studies, political history, territorial autonomy, and international relations, particularly examining Åland Islands' integration into the EU.
• Recent Work: Published an article analyzing the Swedish People’s Party’s role in Åland’s evolving EU relationship.
• Projects: Participated in the NordForsk-funded project "Nordic Added Value and Vision 2030" (2023–2024).
• Activities: Delivered oral presentations on territorial autonomy and Åland’s EU membership, attended workshops, and served as a board member in HYVÄT.
