Karin Creutz is a Doctoral Researcher at the Swedish School of Social Science, University of Helsinki, and a key participant in the Helsinki Inequality Initiative (INEQ) and the Doctoral Programme in Social Sciences. Her research focuses on social exclusion, polarisation, and security in Nordic welfare states, with specific interest in media representations of Islam, nationalist movements, and radicalisation processes.
- Projects: SEPOS (NordForsk), KOKOM (Svenska kulturfonden), Språkhat (hat speech against linguistic minorities)
- Collaborations: Migration and Diaspora Studies Research Group (MIDI), European research networks
Her work combines critical discourse analysis, epistemology, and complexity theory to examine how media constructs narratives around migration, multiculturalism, and ethnic relations. She actively engages with public debates through media appearances and serves on boards like the Foundation for Pluralism and Turvallinen Helsinki network.
