Harry Teng is an Assistant Professor in the Translation and Localization Management program at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. With over two decades of experience in Asia and the US, he bridges education, management, and technology through localization, translation, and cultural mediation. His career spans roles in teaching, translation/interpretation, multimedia development, and corporate localization services at SDL (now RWS Moravia) and Mailchimp.
- Education: BA in Physics/Philosophy (double major), Middlebury College; MA in Translation and Interpretation (Chinese), Middlebury Institute of International Studies.
Harry focuses on leveraging translation and localization to foster cross-cultural collaboration and business success. He is deeply engaged with the rise of GenAI in his field and emphasizes servant leadership in mentoring 2–3 MIIS graduates annually. His eclectic background includes teaching high school and kindergarten, military missile instruction, and ski instruction.
