Dr. Harry Hobbs is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Law and Justice at the University of New South Wales. He holds an ARC DECRA Award for his research on Indigenous-State treaty-making and sovereign citizens. His research interests span public law, Indigenous rights, micronations, and legal reform. He has authored books like Micronations and the Search for Sovereignty and Pseudolaw and Sovereign Citizens.

Research Interests: Harry examines treaty-making processes in Australia, drawing insights from Canada and Aotearoa New Zealand. He also investigates micronations, sovereign citizens, and pseudolaw’s impact on justice systems. His work bridges international law, constitutional law, and human rights.
Publications: Over 50 peer-reviewed articles and books on treaty-making, Indigenous rights, and legal pluralism. Recent works include Pseudolaw and Sovereign Citizens (2025) and analyses of Australia’s pandemic-era parliamentary activity.
