Harry Anthony Patrinos

Harry Anthony Patrinos is the Department Head of the Department of Education Reform and holds the 21st Century Endowed Chair in Education Policy at the University of Arkansas. He specializes in the economics of education, focusing on returns to schooling, school-based management, and public-private partnerships. Previously, he served at the World Bank as Senior Adviser, managing education teams across regions and co-developing the Harmonized Learning Outcomes database for the Human Capital Index. His research also addresses Indigenous peoples' socioeconomic status. He holds a doctorate from the University of Sussex.

His work spans policy analysis, global education systems, and pandemic impacts on learning, with over 50 journal articles. Notable contributions include studies on pandemic-induced learning loss, voucher systems in education, and Indigenous education equity. He has advised governments and international institutions on education financing and reform strategies.
