Harris McFerrin

Harris McFerrin serves as an Associate Professor in the Biology Department at Xavier University of Louisiana, actively participating in the HHMI Science Education Alliance-Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science (SEA-PHAGES) program since at least 2022. He teaches multiple course sections integrating authentic research into undergraduate education through phage discovery and genomic analysis.

His research focuses on bacteriophage isolation, genomic characterization, and microbial host interactions using Microbacterium foliorum as a primary host organism.
